My Busy Schedule

Hello! I thought I would tell you a little bit about my busy week. Last week I had many tests! The tests were kind of difficult for me because I didn't understand all of it. My friends in China had tests too. Even though we are not in the same country, we are studying at the same time, which is funny to me. Now, they are having a holiday for Labor Day in China! I hope that they will have a good time!
Time flies! I have been in America for almost two months. I spent many happy moments in Granite Hills High School. From now on, English is my biggest problem, but I will overcome it. If you want to learn Chinese, I am willing to be your Chinese teacher! Aha! See you next week!

Settling down

My first day at Granite Hills High School was exciting. My friends helped me find my classes and meet my teachers. I was nervous to meet all my new teachers and classmates, but now I am used to it. My teachers are kind and always help me solve the problems. In China, a lot of the teachers at my old school (Overseas High School) were young, and had just graduated from college. At Overseas High School, I lived at the school in the dormitory. Overseas High School is like what Americans call “boarding school.” We had to wear uniforms and we couldn't wear make-up. I had a test every day at Overseas High School. My hardest classes are history and science because there are a lot of new words and I don’t understand them all. I will keep working hard and doing my best!!!

My first month in America

Hello my name is Minyi Zhen, but you can call me Charlene. I came to America on March 5, 2013. I arrived in a plane and landed in LA. I used to live in Taishan, China in Guang Dong Province. Taishan is a small city, but I love it very much. Now, I live in Porterville, California. It is a small town, but it is very beautiful. Americans are very nice! When I first came to the school, I met Bethany and Sarah; they are pretty and friendly. I like them very much! I miss my friends and teachers in China. I also miss the food there. One of my favorite foods is fish curry. I think the food here in America is a little too sweet. I am used to eating salty food, like noodles and fish. I will be writing to you once a week to tell you about all my experiences in a new country.
